Me: Ummm, did you forget the Ziploc Steamer Bags?
Chris: Shit!
Me: Well I have no clue how to cook asparagus any other way and Chicken is done in 6 minutes, dammit (I swear I am “kitchen dumb”)
Chris: Ha, use the kids bottle cleaner
Me: Holy crap! GENIOUS! It steams bottles, right- so why not freaking asparagus?
So folks, don’t question where I cooked your veggies when you come for dinner because the Avent Microwave Bottle Steamer is my new best friend.
Don’t judge.

Hahaha you are TOO funny Ash! beautiful tho! It looks yummy! I am SO not a cook, but my best friend taught me how to cook asparagus and I LOVE it. What she does is, puts a little bit of butter in a sauce pan or oil, to heat it up and she gets garlic (its in the veggie asile it has a blue cap to it) and she slices uo a couple cloves of that and puts it in with the oil, (careful not to burn it) then she puts in the asparagus (puts some salt and pepper on to season more) and cooks to liking, she likes them soft, so do I. and omg, they are DELICIOUS! Loved this post, made me laugh, love thay baby cooker idea!!!
I love sauteed asparagus. Cut into 2 inch segments (or can leave stalks whole - whichever you prefer) and sautee in EVOO with Montreal Steak Seasoning and Mrs. Dash Original seasoning (or can replace Mrs. Dash with Lemon Pepper seasoning), stirring frequently, until asparagus is tender but still has a bit of a crunchy bite to it.
Looks amazing!!! I'm going to try your chicken tomorrow (as I have a bunch of fresh asparagus in the fridge that needs to be eaten asap!) I either grill my asparagus (with a light coating of EVOO, sea salt & fresh black pepper or I bake it in the stove the same way (with olive oil, S&P) until the tips get nice & crispy. Top it off with a tangy hollandaise sauce...omgoodness, fabulous!!
true sign of a tired, overworked mom of two in need of a glass of wine and COOKED dinnner. Good work momma. I like it.
Way to be creative! It looks yummy to me
Thats awesome!! Good improvising.
Now, you know vegetables are important to a mom when you cook um in something not necessarily made for that use. I totally loved the idea...and as for laughs I did indeed. Thank you, I needed that.

pour some olive oil on a cookie sheet, place asparagus on cookie sheet and roll in oil until spread evenly, sprinkle some salt and pepper and cook at 350 for 10 min. :-) Very yummy! Your chicken sounds great! I'll have to try it
Haha! You crack me up! Way to be resourceful!
That is awesome! I have the Avent Microwave Steamer... I should totally try this : )
That is BRILLIANT! Love it!
We roast our asparagus usually:
Olive oil, salt, pepper
Plop into 400 degree oven for about 5 minutes or until cooked through
But I gotta say, your ingenuity is AWESOME!
Pampered Chef makes a microwave steamer that you can use over and over again instead of having to buy those steam bags. After you're done with the bottle steamer, you may want to invest in one ;)
Looks like a yummy dinner! Especially the wine :)
You are so smart!!! I have to try this myself. The chicken looks so yummy.
Hahaha! That's awesome!
you are freaking hilarious!
::snort:: Awesome. That is very clever. :)
