Nursery Inspiration
Our baby is oficially a T-Rex! Yup the dinosaur! Chris saw a developmental picture in his EMS book and since at 8 weeks they have short little arms he calls the baby a T-Rex. Nice babe.
I came across a few nursery pictures I liked on RateMySpace. So Im posting them here so I don't accidently erase them in my bookmarks. I only found girl ones that I like and Im sure Ill change my mind before the time comes anyways. I'm not a huge fan of themed nurserys for girls, I just like plain & simple. Weird I know :)

Week 8
So its week 8. Nothing too exciting going on here. Im actually pretty boring, I sleep...sleep and sleep some more. I really think it's all I do. It's screwing with my work schedule since I am used to staying awake the nights before I work so I sleep the next day. But I feel like Im a child with a bed time...8pm rolls around and Im out. It doesn't even matter if I slept all day, Ill go back to bed. Ahhhh the joys of 1st trimester.
Sour Patch Kids and Veggie trays were on the menu for today. Yup, I dont understand the combination but whatever. The veggie tray was soooooooo good! FYI, Publix doesn't sell Sour Patch Kids, seriously.
Our first appintment & ultrasound are a week away. I can't wait, I know its worth the wait. I have one of those Dr's that likes to wait to 8-12 weeks before he sees you. It doesnt really bother me at all- just the impatient factor. I know I have an awesome Dr since 90% of the girls that work L&D at Healthpark said to use him- I went out to dinner with Ashley V and all her co-workers one night last year and that was the topic of the night. It's funny to listen to their sides of the stories just like when RT coworkers go out and end up talking about work. LOL Im sure Ill get the big list of do's and don'ts..oh I am so excited since everyone and their mother has taken it upon themselves to each give their 2 cents. I know they all care, but Im also not stupid. If I want to eat my Subway with my lunch meat on it & it heated up, gosh darnit I will. UGH!
Week 8
Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

We bought a new car! With baby on the way we decided the Honda Accord was smaller than I would like. So we traded her in for a new 2008 Ford Edge. Well it's actually used, but only had 7,000 miles on it. Plus we got her for $4,000 less than True Market Value so I think it was meant to be.
Shes definitely a unique color but we like it. We didn't have much choice since this dealer only had 2 used ones. The other one was pearl white and was the bare bones minimum. So what the heck we chose the "burnt orange" one. Plus we had such a great deal on it. Its leather seats, 6 CD changer, ipod hookup, reclining back seats, huge space and the list goes on. Its just awesome! And perfect for our growing family. I definitely look soccer-momish in it. LOL
And this can be yours...IF THE PRICE IS RIIIIIIGHT!

So it's 7 weeks today. Last night I officially couldn't fit into my jeans- comfortably. I went to get ready for Chilis and threw on my jeans and they buttoned but they were way too tight. I had MEGA muffin-top. So I got to use one of the Bella Bands that Mary got me. They are awesome, they allow you to wear your non-maternity jeans with out them buttoned...ahhh relief for the HUGE bloat I have going on.
Bella Band
Other than being super super bloated (Ill post a pic later)..Ive just been very exhausted. I get tired around 11pm at work instead of 5am. I take numerous naps and have no shame. Chris says all I seem to do is sleep. I haven't even taken our Xmas tree down yet- I just don't have the energy. I know, I know...that's bad.
I get small cravings but nothing weird yet. I crave chocolate milk...I rarely drank it before I got pregnant so I guess that's new. The only other cravings I get is when I see someone eating something that looks real good or something on TV. I can't get that meal out of my head until I make it. Weird I know.
Week 7
How your baby's growing:The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry

So Yes...we're pregnant!
Baby D is definitely a honeymoon baby, hence the title of the blog, "Ruby Baby"
Chris and I are expecting, crazy isn't it. I decided to start a blog to keep a journal of the next 9 months at the advice of a close family friend. And like she said, our kids will probably think I'm a dork just like hers do now. I think it will be really neat to look back on this and share with our child.
So I am 6 weeks today. I guess I should update you all on the past 6 weeks :)
Dec14 Our Wedding, everything was so perfect! I wish we could go back on the cruise!!
Dec 30 Positive Pregnancy Test!!!
I woke up that morning with cramp like feeling and decided to take a test before I popped some Advil. Needless to say...POSITIVE! Since it was 4am I didn't wake Chris up.
I went back to sleep and woke up to make a trip to Target to buy the movie Knocked Up to give to him.
Back Story: we decided not to get each other Christmas presents this year since our wedding was so close to Christmas. BUT, I woke up Christmas Morning and "Santa" brought me my new camera bag for my new Canon Rebel Xsi. It was really sweet, but I felt awful since I didn't even get Chris a card. Bad wife, I know.
So when he woke up he asked me where I went since he heard the front door. I told him I just went to Target to look at more Xmas clearance stuff. He laughed and rolled his eyes. So then I tell him I found him a belated Christmas present. He looked confused. I told him it wasn't a HUGE gift but I HAD to get it for him when I saw it. So I throw him the wrapped DVD and said, Gee I bet you can't guess what that is. LOL
He opens it and I had written our delivery date on there of 9/9/09. I wish you could have seen his confused face for a second. His response, REALLY!?! He was pretty freaking excited!!
We planned on keeping it a secret until we saw the Dr, but the Dr doesn't want to see me until Feb 3. There was no way that we could keep this a secret from our parents until then. People at work found out real fast since you have to wear double lead in the ER during a trauma. It's pretty much a universal sign at work when a girl puts on double lead. So ya, word got out a lot sooner than later. We still plan on telling more friends and extended family after our first ultrasound.
Jan 2 Broke down and told parents. Since my parents are in Ohio I wanted to come up with a creative way to tell them. Maggie begged me to tell them before she had to go back to OSU and she was going back that weekend So I whipped up a slide show and sent it off. Maggie set it up on the computer and called me while they watched it. They thought I was showing them a wedding video slide show a friend had made for me.
So here we are, 33 more weeks to go.
