Mission Crib & Updates

Our crib came in surprisingly fast, so we went to pick it up tonight. We had absolutely NO plans to set it up since we should be in our new house before CC arrives. But having a crib box sitting in your garage seemed so tempting. Plus since the new nursery will be painted the same as Nolan's nursery, it only seemed logical we set it up and see how it all looks with the new bedding. Now all we need is the train stuff I want to decorate with, the crib skirt and the dresser. It's all really coming together and I think the new nursery look already looks amazing and it still has a touch of Nolan. I just love it!
30 weeks +2 days

I can't believe I made it into the 30's! Next goal is Halloween, then 32 weeks is my baby shower and then we are in the last 4 week stretch until C-section day at the end of 36 weeks! We're almost there! This is really happening!

I've been doing pretty good since being off work. My blood pressures are good, no protein dips and my 24 hours have been under 300. I can't complain. I still have weekly ultrasounds between OB & MFM to watch my placenta and his growth. His last growth scan was at 29 weeks and he was 3lbs 4oz! He's a monster!
I am still doing my Lovenox shots and I should be stopping those around 32-33 weeks and switching to Heprin since my C-section is at 36-37 weeks. As of right now the tentative date is December 10th unless I start contracting in week 36, we will go ahead and do the c-section then since it's not that safe for my uterus to contract due to the vertical c-section I had with Nolan. (holy run on sentence) My OB talked about giving the steroid shots around 33 weeks just to play safe and give him a little boost since we're taking him early. We're hoping for no NICU time and a normal hospital experience because that would be a dream to us.

Oh and P.S.
It's confirmed, he has hair!

love the crib, it looks awesome.
Quick question did your doctors suggest doing an amnio at 3 weeks to see if lungs are mature before doing the c section? Mine have and i am terrified of that needle. I had the classical cut on my uterus so i will be going at 36/37 weeks.

She hasn't said anything about an amnio YET, but I know no matter what she is sectioning the day I turn 37 weeks. I had an amnio with Nolan and I hated every second, BUT I heard ones that are later in pregnancy don't hurt as much.

The nursery (and you) look amazing! Glad everything is coming together so well and you are finding ways to remember while commemorating Baby CC in his own way :) You're only a few weeks ahead of me, so I'm jealous (but WAY happy for you) that you'll get to meet him so soon!

It looks awesome, and so do you. 3 lbs 4 oz was the size of my 35 weeker that had severe IUGR b/c of my HELLP! With every inch of my being I wish you a completely normal hospital experience... you deserve complete happiness.

I know you've probably been asked this question a million times already but why did you have to have a vertical cut C-section? Just curious. :)

the crib looks awesome :)

I switched over to the Heparin and remembering to inject myself in the morning is not fun :( Slowly getting used to it, but miss my Lovenox LOL. Never thought I would say that.

Sarah,
I had a vertical because Nolan was so small and my uterus was super small that it was safer for both me and Nolan to be cut vertically. My uterus wasn't wide enough to cut horizontal. I guess it's pretty common in micro preemie c-sections.

Yeah! I'm so excited to see the crib set up, and so glad that you are at 30 weeks. Even if you don't make it all the way to December 10, CC should be big and healthy, and I am so, so happy for you!

If you go to the 10th which I think you will at 36 weeks he will be healthy and happy. I was born at 35 1/2 weeks and had no problems with breathing and way back then no steriods shot because know one knew I was coming I dont think they had them. Good precaution but he will be fine My weight was 5.0 lbs even. He is almost there now and still has 4 1/2 weeks till then. You did a good job and he is going to be a nice plump boy SO EXCITED FOR YOU.
Just thought I would try and let you relax alittle. Sit back now and cruise into the 10th you deserve it.

I pop in from time to time to see how you guys are doing. So glad to see you have the crib up :) Everything looks and sounds awesome. You look amazing!! Love that baby belly! Sorry to read about your grandpa -- but happy to know that he is in heaven with his Father. He'll hold Nolan and guide this little one in.

I think the nursery looks wonderful! :)

I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, because that's not my intentions at all, but are you keeping the crib by the window? I only ask this because the light might not be your best friend (early wake-ups), not to mention the extreme temperatures, and there are safety risks with the blinds. We have blackout curtains in our nursery and it allows my little one to sleep in past sunrise. Again, please don't take this the wrong way. I debated on keeping my mouth shut, but as a new mom I didn't always think about that stuff.
