Sloppy Joes

I am not a cook nor do I try to say I can cook. I have written about this before and said i was going to make an effort this year to try harder to learn new dishes and get better at hanging out in the kitchen.

But, there is one thing I CAN make really really good..... Sloppy Joes! I just started following this simple recipe and I literally have family begging me to make it all the time. So last night, all our friends had off work so we had our first ever Sloppy Joe night!! We usually do rib night over at Val's but we decided to change it up and do my sloppy joes.

So here is what
10 lbs of Sloppy Joe and Wine Wednesday looks like. While the girls cooked, the boys play Wii. At least it keeps them out of the kitchen. It was nice to all be able to get together again with our busy schedules. It's rare that we get to do this. We ended up ending then night by the camp fire outside and it was the perfect night for a fire, it's been SO cold in Florida this week.
So now your wondering what this glorious recipe is huh? I mentioned last night that I might post it on the blog and they all cut me off saying "Noooooo! It's your recipe!!"

BUT, why not share a good thing?! So here ya go!!!

Ashley's Awesome Sloppy Joes!
1lb of ground beef
1 cup Ketchup
1/4 cup Water
2 TBS Brown Sugar
2 TSP Worcestershire Sauce
2 TSP prepared mustard
1/2 TSP of Garlic Powder
1/2 TSP of Onion Powder
1/2 TSP Salt

Brown the meat, drain, add all the ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes.

I promise these are the yummiest Sloppy Joes EVER!

Those sound amazing!!!

Random-we were stuck in a rut as far as the cooking. I have a handful of dishes that I make superbly and we repeat! Recently someone at church told us about www.e-mealz.com AMAZING! It gives you a plan for the week including the recipies, shopping list and directions! LOVE IT!

Hello there. I am visiting from Lynette's blog. I watched your video for awhile, got too emotional. He was so so tiny. I pray you will soon be blessed with another miracle! That will be a great thing for you to work in the NICU and help to take care of these precious ones.

My husband loves to cook and he is always browsing for new recipes, although hamburger is off our list now because of heart issues. You will learn in time some great recipes! blogging helps with that too. Please come visit my blog when you can too. God's blessings. Coleene

Hi Ashley, I found your blog through Lynnette Kraft's blog. I lost a baby boy of my own in August of 2007. His name was Jack and he lived for 6 weeks.

Just wanted to let you know that I feel your pain in losing sweet Nolan. He was precious. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Love,
Bethany
